Eric has administered BSD and Linux systems for more than 20 years, and
has supported applications using PostgreSQL for nearly as long. He is
usually most content when result of a test or deployment returns in two or
three seconds after typing
There were several weigh points that led to his current style. Perhaps the most notable is the study of test-driven development, which connected the concepts of software engineering with programming. This mindset, and his inherent sense of minimalism led to the creation of Unix tools that allow the software development and systems configuration to be at once progressive and interactive.
